We all love a good Facebook memory right???
I have no real idea what prompted this 5 years ago but my exact words on my FB post were,
"Every time I think I have all my ducks in a row, I turn around and one of the little f&$kers has waddled off..."
Regardless of where my ducks had waddled off to 5 years ago, it seemed to resonate a little to the present day. Don't get me wrong, my ducks are all pretty much in a row at the moment. I mean... it's a VERY disorderly line at times but they're all there.
But, it resonated more in terms of conversations I've had recently with clients about their individual fitness goals.
Truth of the matter is, when it comes to achieving goals, if one of your ducks is out of line, your goals are going to be much more difficult to attain. Not unachievable, but definitely harder to reach.
So what are your ducks in terms of training and fitness? Here's 5 of the main ones;
Hydration
Nutrition
Training Consistency/routine - (consistency trumps intensity every time)
Sleep/rest/recovery
Lifestyle
Of course some of these ducks may have baby ducks (i.e. you can break them down into smaller categories), and some of you may feel you need extra ducks in your row.
I also have an "Accountability" duck - I got myself an online running coach - best thing I've ever done for my training. It's amazing what a difference it makes.
Food for thought anyway...
